ABOUT US
Citrus is a symbol of luxury and hospitality in southern Italy, particularly in Sicily from where the Cicala family emigrated. It is also a dedication to Joe Cicala’s great-grandmother, Clementina. The snake represents Angizia, the pagan snake goddess of the Marsi tribe who inhabited Angela Cicala’s familiar region of Abruzzo.
We are proud to serve authentic family recipes, rooted in the folklore and traditions of Italy’s southern regions.
Benvenuti e buon appettio!
We are a southern Italian restaurant located inside the historic Divine Lorraine Hotel on North Broad Street, in Philadelphia, where husband and wife chefs Joe and Angela Cicala, bring you the region’s most authentic Italian dining experience which focuses on seasonality, sustainability, and most importantly, simplicity.

Be a part of Philadelphia's history when you host your special event at Cicala Restaurant.
Enjoy classic, southern Italian cuisine in our lavish dining room featuring an antique bar handcrafted in Italy, seven sparkling chandeliers, and plush velvet booths, housed inside the historic Divine Lorraine Hotel.
Our dining room has been home to many special occasions throughout the building's history since its construction in 1892, and was considered one of the most elegant hotels in Philadelphia in its heyday. After a full renovation of the dining room in 2018, when we were able to preserve the original brick exposed walls, hardwood floors, beams and windows, we now offer one of the most luxurious dining experiences in this historic space, once again.
No matter the occasion, our attentive and experienced staff will ensure your event will be
perfectly tailored to your vision from start to finish.
